Terms of service

The terms under which the ls.bot website and the hosted Lightspeed platform are provided. Last updated 29 August 2026.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Lightspeed is developed and maintained by Smart Computer AG, Switzerland ("Smart Computer Co.", "we", "us"). These terms govern your use of the website at ls.bot (the "Website") and of the hosted Lightspeed platform we operate under the same domain (the "Platform"). Together we call them the "Services".

The Lightspeed software itself is open source and licensed under the Apache License 2.0. Running your own copy of the software is governed by that licence, not by these terms.

By using the Services you agree to these terms. If you use the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation, and "you" then refers to both you and the organisation.

2. Early access by invitation

The Platform is in an early-access phase and open by invitation only. An invitation is personal to the invited person or organisation and may not be transferred. We decide at our discretion whom to invite and may withdraw an invitation at any time.

During early access the Platform is provided free of charge. Should we introduce fees, we will tell you in advance, and you will be able to stop using the Platform before any fees apply.

Early-access software changes quickly. Features may be added, changed or removed, and there may be interruptions, bugs and data loss. We do not promise any particular availability, and we may reset, migrate or delete Platform data at the end of the early-access phase. Where reasonably possible we will give you notice and the opportunity to export your data first.

3. Your account

You sign in to the Platform with a third-party identity provider such as GitHub. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, for keeping your credentials and access tokens confidential, and for telling us promptly at hello@smartcomputer.company if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Agents act on your behalf

The Platform lets you run autonomous software agents that read data, write code, call tools and act on systems you connect — repositories, messaging channels, APIs and machines. These agents act on your instructions and on your behalf. You are responsible for:

  • the instructions, prompts, configurations and data you give to agents;
  • the systems, accounts and credentials you connect, and for having the right to connect them;
  • the actions agents take on those systems, including their consequences;
  • reviewing agent output before relying on it — agents and the underlying AI models can produce wrong, incomplete or harmful results.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the Services only lawfully and in line with these terms. You must not:

  • access, probe or attack systems, accounts or data that you are not authorised to use, whether directly or through an agent;
  • upload or process content that you have no right to use, that infringes anyone's rights or that is unlawful;
  • attempt to circumvent tenant isolation, rate limits, usage quotas or other security or operational controls of the Platform;
  • use the Services to send spam or unsolicited messages, or to develop malware;
  • resell or provide the Platform to third parties without our written consent;
  • use the Services in a way that violates the usage policies of the third-party AI model providers we rely on.

We may suspend or restrict access immediately if we reasonably believe these rules are being broken or the Services are being put at risk.

6. Your content

You keep all rights to the content you submit to the Platform — instructions, code, files, messages, connected data and the output your agents produce ("Your Content"). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, process, transmit and display Your Content solely as needed to provide the Services to you, including sending relevant parts of it to the AI model providers that generate agent responses.

We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not sell it. We access it only to operate, secure and support the Services, or where the law requires us to.

7. Third-party services

The Platform relies on third-party services, including AI model providers (such as OpenRouter, OpenAI and Anthropic), identity providers (such as GitHub) and the channels and integrations you choose to connect (such as GitHub repositories, Telegram or MCP servers). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, behaviour or content. We may change the providers we use at any time.

8. Public demo

Where we offer a public demo of Lightspeed without sign-up, it is provided purely for evaluation. Demo environments may be reset, limited or removed at any time without notice. Do not enter confidential or personal data into a demo.

9. Intellectual property

The Website, the Platform and the Lightspeed name and logo are owned by Smart Computer Co. or its licensors. The open-source parts of Lightspeed are available to you under the Apache License 2.0; nothing in these terms limits the rights that licence grants. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

10. No warranty

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that agent output will be accurate or fit for any purpose.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by Swiss law, Smart Computer Co. is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of profit, loss of data, or damage arising from actions taken by agents on your instructions or on systems you connected. Liability for unlawful intent and gross negligence, and any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, remains unaffected.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and may ask us to delete your account at hello@smartcomputer.company. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, in particular if you breach these terms or when the early-access phase ends. After termination we delete Your Content within a reasonable period, subject to backup cycles and legal retention duties, as described in our privacy policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Services evolve. The current version is always published at this address with its date. For material changes we will notify Platform account holders by email or within the Platform before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss substantive law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts at the registered seat of Smart Computer Co. in Switzerland have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory forum that applies to you as a consumer.
